Four separately listed Korean companies — Daol Investment & Securities, Jinheung, Hyosung Heavy Industries, and HD Hyundai Heavy Industries — each filed the identical DART disclosure type on 18 September 2026: a response to a market rumor or press report, with their answer marked “unconfirmed” (미확정). On every other business day in our 17-day scan, zero companies filed this report type.
Zero for 17 days, then four at once

A KRX rumor-response inquiry is a request a company cannot decline: when trading volume or price moves in a way exchange rules flag, or press coverage raises a question the exchange wants addressed, the listed company must file an answer within a set window. Answering “unconfirmed” means the company is not denying the report, not confirming it, and is not yet able to say more — often because a matter is still under internal discussion.
Two names, reportedly opposite reactions
Press coverage of the two heavy-industry names describes different outcomes the same day. Jaekyung Ilbo reported HD Hyundai Heavy Industries closed down more than 4 percent amid the uncertainty around its unconfirmed answer. The same outlet and Topstar News described Hyosung Heavy Industries trading higher intraday on the same day. We have not independently recomputed either figure from our own price archive, which does not yet extend to this date — we are reporting what the press recorded, attributed as such, not a number we measured ourselves.
We found no same-day price reporting in our search for Daol Investment or Jinheung, so we are not characterizing their market reaction.
What this figure cannot tell you
DART’s disclosure type confirms that a company was asked to respond to a rumor or report and answered without confirming or denying it — it does not tell us what the underlying rumor was, whether it will later prove true, or whether the two heavy-industry names’ price moves were driven by this filing specifically rather than something else happening the same day.
Method
We scan DART’s daily filing list and tag each report by matching its title against a fixed set of category patterns, including the rumor-or-press-report response type. The 17-day comparison window is every business day for which we hold a complete daily scan between 25 August and 19 September 2026. Price-move figures are quoted from press reporting, not recalculated from our own KRX archive. Not investment advice.
Data & Verification Notes
- Data as of
- Sources
- Financial Services Commission (Republic of Korea) / DART — Daily filing-list scan, tagged for the report type "Response to rumor or press report"
- Jaekyung Ilbo — Same-day stock-move reports for HD Hyundai Heavy Industries and Hyosung Heavy Industries
- Cross-checks
- All four filings (Daol Investment, Jinheung, Hyosung Heavy Industries, HD Hyundai Heavy Industries) carry the same DART report title — "response to rumor or press report (unconfirmed)" — filed on 18 September 2026
- Zero companies filed this same report type on any of the 17 other business days we hold a complete scan for, from 25 August through 19 September 2026
- Press reports (Jaekyung Ilbo, Topstar News) describe HD Hyundai Heavy Industries closing down more than 4% that day and Hyosung Heavy Industries trading higher intraday — we did not independently recompute either move from our own archive, which does not yet cover 18 September
- Excluded figures
- The content of the underlying rumor or press report for any of the four companies — the disclosure type confirms a company was asked to respond, not what the rumor said
- An independently verified closing-price change for either heavy-industry name — our own KRX daily-price archive does not yet cover this date, so the price-move figures here are as reported by the press, not recomputed by us
- Any read on Daol Investment or Jinheung's stock reaction — we found no same-day price reporting for those two in our search
