Where analyst attention piles up
6,372 single-stock reports · 20 brokerages · 2026
Korean brokerages write a lot of research — and it lands on the same few names. From our archive of single-stock reports we measure where attention concentrates and where it thins: 939 of 2,819 listed companies drew at least one report in 2026; the busiest name drew 100; the median covered company drew 2.
- What it is — for each sector, how many of its listed companies appeared in analyst research this year, how many reports they drew, and how many drew just one.
- Why trust it — every report is a filed, dated broker note we archived, joined to a company by name and to our public-code sector scheme.
- How big — 6,372 single-stock reports across975 named companies in 2026.
- The honest caveat — the ticker field is filled on only a fraction of reports (a scraper gap), so coverage is joined by company name; and the archive is a sample of brokerages, so absence is not market-wide.
- The form — one CSV: sector · listed companies · companies with a report · coverage share · reports · companies with only one report. Plus the concentration summary.
① Attention, by sector
The share of each sector's listed companies that drew at least one report this year. It runs from the low twenties to the high thirties — and even the covered names are thin: hundreds drew a single report all year.
| Sector | Listed | With a report | Share | Reports | One only |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Real Estate | 30 | 2 | 6.7% | 4 | 1 |
| Financials | 229 | 55 | 24% | 621 | 9 |
| Consumer Discretionary | 384 | 97 | 25.3% | 793 | 44 |
| Materials | 391 | 111 | 28.4% | 669 | 43 |
| Health Care | 376 | 134 | 35.6% | 558 | 67 |
| Communication Services | 310 | 116 | 37.4% | 797 | 59 |
| Consumer Staples | 95 | 36 | 37.9% | 174 | 23 |
| Industrials | 625 | 239 | 38.2% | 1,555 | 110 |
| Information Technology | 360 | 141 | 39.2% | 975 | 55 |
Across the market, 411 companies drew exactly one report all year, and 459 were seen by a single brokerage. Attention is not spread — it stacks on a short list while most of the market goes unwritten-about in this sample.
