Which brokers hit their target prices

19,499 rated reports joined to price · 12-month horizon

Every broker report carries a target price. Almost nobody keeps score. We do — matching each target to what the stock actually did twelve months later, across a multi-year archive. The result is the one number a broker never publishes about itself: how often its targets were right.

  1. What it is — every rated report's target price, scored against the share price twelve months later, aggregated by brokerage.
  2. Why trust it — targets and prices are both facts on the record; we join them and keep the archive. Nothing is self-reported by the broker.
  3. How big — 19,499 reports joined to a price (reference 20260805).
  4. The honest caveats — delisted and renamed tickers drop out (survivorship, upward); a single 12-month close undercounts targets hit mid-year. Both ship with the data.
  5. The form — one CSV: broker · stock · report date · target · price then and 12 months on · hit flag. Plus this by-broker summary.

① Hit rate by brokerage

Share of target prices reached within twelve months, the average upside each house promised, and what the shares really returned. Houses with at least 20 scored reports.

Read the gap between the two right-hand columns: houses promise ~40% upside and the shares return ~10%. Targets are optimistic almost everywhere — the product is knowing by how much, and for whom.
